Picking up healthy habits can help boost your career while at the same time, maintaining your physical and mental health. In this article, Microswift’s creating marketing team share their own 10 healthy habits that they like to live by.
#1: Not hitting the snooze button.
It can be tough getting up early in the morning when that 6am alarm goes off. However, as you grow up, you realize that hitting the snooze button could do more harm than good; the last thing you want is to be late for work. So, by creating a daily routine (waking up at certain time), it can help boost productivity for that day.
#2: Taking a mental break from time to time.
During busy times at work, it can be hard for anyone to take a bit of a break. If the creative team has been working on a production piece or planning content for hours on end, they can recognize when they may need a break. By taking a 5-10 minute rest period, the team can come back to the assignment with fresh minds and go on a productive streak.
#3: Being active.
Going on a 30 minute walk at the end of each work day can be a huge mood booster. Even on a short break at work, getting some steps in doesn’t hurt. Our Brand Ambassador Hannah likes to go on walks every day to get in some exercise! Going on hikes, going to the gym and doing yoga are some of the other forms of exercise the creative team likes to do on their own time.
#4: Making a weekly schedule or to-do list.
At Microswift’s creative marketing studio, the team has a whiteboard where they write down what needs to be done daily and check things off as they go along. This habit really helps to structure the days and to keep organized with projects.
#5: Listening to podcasts.
What’s great about podcasts is that you can learn something new every single time you listen to an episode. Even better, you can find something to listen to that you are passionate about whether that be food, relationships, health and wellness, listening to inspiring stories, etc. The creative marketing team loves to listen to podcasts because it forces them to build the pictures in their mind and boost their creativity!
#6: Eating nutritious food.
By packing lunch from home, it can keep you away from ordering out and get you into the habit of consuming healthy foods. Prepping meals ahead of time is always a good idea, especially when you have to get up early in the morning. The team keeps healthy snacks at the office as well in order to keep their energy levels up for when they shoot all day.
Number 7: Being social.
It’s important to be able to spend time with significant others and family members. Even having some sort of social interaction at work is significant. Here at Microswift, all of the departments work closely together in order to create stellar projects while also keeping up with collaboration skills. While still going through this pandemic, it is hard to meet people face to face however, luckily we have technology to remain in contact with other team members and clients. No matter what, we are able to engage with people from all around the world which is extremely important to our brand.
Number 8: Reading every night.
There are benefits from reading every day such as keeping up with brain health and increasing vocabulary. Whether it’s an article or book, it’s all about keeping the brain engaged and stimulated. All in all, reading can help increase exposure to new words and keep your mind feeling sharper.
Number 9: Staying hydrated.
It is crucial to stay hydrated while at work. Drinking water boosts energy levels and keeps your body feeling refreshed and hydrated throughout your busy day. You would be surprised how many people forget about their daily water intake, especially during the hectic times at work. The team likes to keep a pack of water bottles in the office so that they can be constantly hydrated while they’re actively shooting/producing content.
Number 10: Goal setting.
At the end of each day, the creative marketing team likes to take a look at what they accomplished and figure out what their goals are for the following day. By reviewing recent projects and determining what was done well and what could be done for next time, it helps us reach our overall goals as a brand.
If it’s important to you to pursue healthy behaviour like it is for us here at Microswift, then start your own healthy habits. In the end, it comes down to what works best for you and what makes you feel better overall.
